both generally in a wonderful state of preservation considering age, the gilding to both with a nice patina, exhibiting typical signs of light wear commensurate with age, including crackling, minor losses to gesso and gilding, and with some areas of probable retouching; the smaller mirror retains eglomise panel which has some minor water spotting; both mirrors include old mirror plates, with nice flecking and inclusions indicative of age, with a few areas of losses to mercury to larger example; both mirrors retain old backboards, the smaller one retaining old wallpaper fragments; the smaller mirror missing two spherules
