Minor deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is lined and on non-original stretchers; minor hairline craquelures throughout, which appear stable; areas of inpainting visible in scattered areas of the background, including a thin vertical line along the center left edge; under a high reflective, glossy varnish. Under UV light: the thick varnish layer prohibits viewer of older inpainting; the aforementioned spots of newer inpainting in the background fluoresce, although the line of vertical inpainting in the center left does not fluoresce; a round area of inpainting to the left of the woman's nose and a few dots within her right chest; pinpoint to small dots of inpainting to the baby's left cheek and forearm.
