New York, June 3, 1930. One sheet, 10 1/4 x 6 1/2 in. (260 x 165 mm). Typed letter signed, on Transcontinental Air Transport Inc letterhead, to Seymour Halpern. In full: "Your question is difficult to answer-- particularly as I'm not at all sure I'm a success. However, to generalize I believe that what we call succeeding is accomplished by hard work, ability, and luck." Creasing from old folds, scattered light toning. In mat below a 2 1/2 x 3 1/4 in. signed card by American World War I flying ace Eddie Rickenbacker, who adds the date 1925. Both in frame, 18 1/2 by 12 in.
Seymour Halpern (1913-1997) was newspaper reporter who later became an U.S. Congressman and state senator from New York.
