A view of the funeral procession, including the hearse completely surrounded by people, at the corner of Sixth and Chestnut Street. A large banner for "Head Quarters Maj. Gen. Hancock's 1st Army Corps" hangs from a building to the right and an overturned recruitment broadside rests on its side on the street below. Mount verso with "J.W. Queen & Co., Phila (?)" ink stamp. -- A view of the hearse making its way along South Broad Street, surrounded by people on all sides, and with additional onlookers gathered on rooftops. Uncredited, though likely by Ridgway Glover. -- A view of a many-windowed building abundantly festooned with American flags and patriotic bunting. Identified on paper label on verso as the "Gen. Grant's Residence, Philada." and credited to R. Newell, Philadelphia. -- A view of uniformed soldiers overseeing a large crowd of people lined up with printed caption in margin, "Passing into the State House to see the corpse." Mount recto with verso imprint of Ridgway Glover (of Philadelphia) 22 May 1865.
