2 1/8 x 3 5/8 in. tintype (uncased) of a group of people gathered together, with railroad tracks visible and tree stumps in the foreground. Consignor's modern note indicates that the tintype captures a crowd celebrating the opening of the railroad in Colby, Wisconsin (no further provenance confirms this modern notation) (some creasing to plate, edge and corner wear, occasional surface wear). -- CDV featuring view of people standing in front of a Milwaukee & Northern Railroad locomotive, possibly taken during the opening of the railroad in Colby, Wisconsin. Uncredited (modern penciled notations on verso). -- CDV of a locomotive with printed information on verso, "Rhode Island Locomotive Works, Manufacturers of Locomotive Engines, Boilers and Tanks, Providence, R.I.," with officials' names listed below. -- 5 x 7 1/4 in. photograph on cardstock mount showing people posed on or near a locomotive. Some appear to hold long guns.
