Lot comprised of more than 70 photographs. Images in varying conditions though most feature some toning or fading, and spotting, with wear to mount edges and corners. Including:

19 photographs, most on disbound album pages previously housed in a West Point Military Academy album. The photographs measure approx. 8 1/2 x 6 1/2 in. or smaller. Identified subjects and locations include: James Lancaster, West Point Class of 1862, 3rd US Horse Artillery, commanded center section, Battery C at Gettysburg. -- Fred J. James, West Point Class of 1862, 3rd US Cavalry, WIA Corinth, killed by horse fall while recovering. With clipped signature signed "Fred J. James, Cold Springs, NY (?)" -- Lorenzo Lorain, West Point Class of 1856, US Regular Army 3rd Light Artillery, one of the earliest photographers of the Pacific Northwest. -- Henry Clay Danes, West Point Class of 1867, service in the China Relief Expedition and Philippines (2 photos). -- John McClellan, West Point Class of 1867, 5th US Artillery (2 photos). -- Samuel Roberts Jones, West Point Class of 1867, service in the Philippines (2 photos). -- Photos of P.M. Price, Engineer (West Point Class of 1869) and Richard Newton Price, 10th US Cavalry (Class of 1870) mounted recto/verso on album page. -- James C. [With:] Partial album containing approx. 53 photographs of cadets, mounted recto on 13 1/2 x 10 1/2 in. album pages, lacking covers. The photographs measure approx. 5 3/4 x 4 in. The subjects are unidentified, although an obituary for Captain Robert Hanna, West Point Class of 1872, is affixed on the back of an album page suggesting that the cadets may represent the Class of 1872. (Lacking album covers, although portions of spine present, toning and occasional soiling to prints and album pages).
