E. Rodgers, artist. Jeff. Davis going to War. / Jeff. returning from War. Philadelphia: S.C. Upham, 1861. 6 3/4 x 5 1/2 in. print featuring an “upside down” picture, or optical illusion. One side of the pro-Union print shows Jefferson Davis going to war, charging forward. When turned upside down, the print features the text, “Jeff. returning from War AN,” with a depiction of a donkey. Vertical fold line near center, minimal soiling.
