Dalva Bros. invoice is not available; the provenance is based on the 1991 Interior Design magazine article which cites Dalva as the source. Sturdy condition but must be attached to a wall. Marble top previously broken and repaired through its middle and back corner, with minor fill. Uncertain if marble top is original, but it is older (19th or early 20th century. Probably not 18th century as it is not too thick and is more smooth on the back edge). Probably with later cross struts added to the underside of the top for stability. A few areas of flaking gilt and areas of chipped / lost gold exposing the gesso. Other negligible age cracks / craquelure and small chips or rubbed gilt as is normal for age.
