Appearing in overall good, stable, and ready to place condition. Dust present in the recesses. The lid of the chest opens and closes smoothly. The hinged arm which supports the lid when open is later. The gilding is rubbed, most significantly on the lid. The bottom molding on the proper left side of the case with as area of loss. The interior of the chest is lacquered, the back is red painted. The bottom board with an age split which is visible when the top of the chest is open. The stand with scattered age splits. Remnants of of red pigment on the shell carving and trim. The proper right side which a small section of loss to the trim. Additional images are available upon request.
