Mr. Grey's upright piano has stood sentry in his apartment for decades, greeting guests upon entry and even serving as the resting spot for his 1973 Oscar. As recalled by Mr. Grey's daughter, Jennifer, whenever her father was preparing for a new role on stage, composers and cast-mates would come over to review the music and practice on this very piano. The number of hands that have graced these keys over the years have hailed from nearly all his legendary roles such as Cabaret, George M!, Goodtime Charley, Chicago, Wicked.
