The chairs are in good condition overall for age and use and are ready to place. There are scattered nicks and small unobtrusive chips throughout the frames, commensurate with age and use.
One foliate-carved chair has a repair to the lower back splat that is only visible from the posterior view. Another foliate-carved chair has a loss to one foot and one arm that is slightly separating from the lower support. The third foliate-carved chair has abrasions to one arm. The fourth foliate-carved chair has a small old repair to the lower back splat that is only visible on close inspection from the posterior view, and an old repair to the seat rail and arm that is only visible on close inspection. The first shell-carved chair has one arm that is separating from the back post and a loss to one foot. The second shell-carved chair is in good condition for age and use.
