M. / 1865" affixed to verso. -- A boudoir card featuring the gateway to the National Cemetery at Gettysburg. Credited to Mumper & Co. on mount recto, verso with illulstrated backmark featuring various Gettysburg landmarks and "Battlefield Photographers" tagline. -- Cabinet card portrait of two men sitting outdoors on camp chairs in front of a tent and holding their rifles. Credited on mount recto to J. I. Mumper, Gettysburg, PA. Verso bears blue ink inscription reading "Uncle Bob & Somebody." -- 2 advertising cards for Mumper & Co., "Battlefield Photographers," -- A printed envelope for "Mumper Studio...Developing and Printing" with ink inscription on obverse reading "Miss Twining - 1.00." -- 7 1/2 x 2 7/8 in. albumen photograph mounted on cardstock, featuring Gettysburg College grounds. Credited to Tipton, Gettysburg, PA on mount recto. -- A check from the Gettysburg National Bank signed "W. H. Tipton," and dated 7 July 1899. -- A printed price list for "Tipton's Photographic Publications, Handbooks and Guides, Engravings and Tourist's Goods Generally." -- And 10 copies of an informational sheet about John L. Burns copyrighted by W. H. Tipton, 1887, which likely originally accompanied a photograph of Burns published and sold by Tipton. -- Together, 28 items.
