overall in great condition, likely refinished, but with a nice even surface throughout, with rich color and wonderful grain to wood; solid and sturdy, the drawers glide easily, and appears to bear original brass hardware; the drawer interiors are lightly stained; many of the small drawers to fitted interior with old chalk or ink inscriptions on sides and backs- including old accounts payables and receivables notations; the prospect retaining pull-out compartment with three drawers, revealing three hidden drawers behind (with old but not original leather pulls); the slant front writing surface with old darkened scratches indicative of years of honest use; the top with patch and likely replaced wood segment where slant front rests and where lock slot is positioned; drawer faces overall are clean, but with some occasional patches to corners or edges commensurate with age; the feet appear to be ok, retaining old blocking, and the foot facings each exhibiting repaired breaks; accompanied by two keys, both of which function for slant front
