The pale salmon silk ground, faded to a muted yellow, vertically oriented, possibly a double seat cover, finely embroidered with stylized lotus medallions, the upper medallions with stylized archaistic dragon surrounds, all within additional stylized floral scroll work, salmon cloud scroll-patterned backing.

Note:

Gustav (Gus) Langford was an associate in the offices of the renowned Philadelphia architect Louis I. Kahn. Gus and his wife, Maris Langford, lived with their young son in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 1965-1968, during the construction of Kahn's iconic Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban complex (National Parliament Building). In addition to Gus's participation in the design and execution of the project, Maris designed interiors for residences within the complex. Gus and Maris travelled extensively in Asia during this time, collecting pieces from India, China, and South Asia, including the present work. .
