Large folio. Translated from the Dutch by John Vandenbergh. Text printed on white, blue, grey, yellow, black, and red paper. Illustrated with seven color lithographs by Appel (two folding), each signed by him in pencil, and numbered "H.C. VI"; five measuring 19 5/8 x 15 7/8 in. (498 x 403 mm), and two measuring 19 3/4 x 32 1/4 in. (502 x 819 mm); loose as issued. Publisher's full black cloth, stamped in white, large cover photograph by Ed van der Elsken; in original limp plastic slip case, printed in black and in red.
A near-fine copy of this collaboration between Dutch writer Bert Schierbeek (1918-96) and Dutch abstract artist Karel Appel (1921-2006), featuring seven large and brightly colored lithographs by Appel.
