Interiors: The Phyllis and Fred Pressman Collection

Three fruitwood examples painted with fox-hunting scenes: one with broken hinges, another with repairs to the hinges. Each with some rubbing and losses to the decoration; most notably to the underside of one example (see condition images).

The monk-painted example with chips and losses to the edges of the top and some craquelure to the painting. Further minor rubbing and wear to the ebonized body as expected with age and handling.

The choir-painted example with craquelure and some minor chips and losses to the paint. The black lacquered body also with some minor rubbing, cracks and wear commensurate with age and handling.

The red lacquer example with rubbing, cracking and losses to the paint and lacquer as expected with age and handling.

The two decoupage examples with some yellowing to the applied top and the example with a woman furthermore with losses to the decoration. Each overall with some minor rubbing, losses and surface abrasions commensurate with age and handling.

The two rectangular examples with figures each with some spidering to the finish and rubbing overall; the example with the female also with a quarter inch flake to the decoration on the lid revealing the base beneath.

The round example with the fashionable lady redecorated (lacquered over splits and losses to the box). The painted figure on the lid with some yellowing and craquelure as expected with age, and overall with some minor rubbing and surface abrasions as expected.

All together the collection presents well and is in stable condition; a lovely assemblage.
