overall solid and sturdy, probably refinished with nice even surface throughout, with a few minor occasional abrasions or scuffs commensurate with age and use, including a few knicks to cornice molding; old split to top of upper right-facing front molding, but stable, and left-facing side molding with repaired break to molding- toward back edge; brasses are period, but probably replaced, although they fit in original screw holes; drawers glide easily and are very clean inside; the center short drawer, and four long drawers retaining lock; the two short drawers flanking center short drawer never had a lock, and bottom-most drawer missing its lock; the chest does have a key, which is later, and does function on drawer locks except from 2nd from bottom-most drawer--the lock is slightly loose and askew; the feet probably replaced, with new blocking evident, the back right-facing foot with secured crack, a couple minor repairs to base molding, and back left-facing foot with a couple minor scrapes; a few drawers face corners and runners with some mended breaks or patches commensurate with age and use
