sturdy and functional; with a wonderfully patinated surface, the paint exhibiting cracquelure and some scattered losses commensurate with age and use, the arms in particular with some rubbing and paint loss; back left-facing leg with repaired break, but appears to have been repaired a long time ago- mostly disguised by paint and fill; the legs and feet with some occasional surface chips or old insect damage; the rush seat is inset, and appears to be later, the underside showing later corner support blocks and later screw reinforcements to inset seat; the rush to seat with some general wear, and an area of loss to center, the wood seat frame / corners with some minor cracks; accompanied by custom seat cushion.
