NOTE:
Charlecote Antiques was an anchor of Kansas City’s historic Crestwood neighborhood across four decades. The shop represented a multi-generational passion for scholarship and collecting with an emphasis on British Furniture and Decorative Arts. Opened in 1980 by Kaye Francis Miller, Charlecote built a reputation for sourcing fine 18th century furniture directly from England with a keen eye on craftsmanship and form. Todd Miller soon followed his mother into the business and further developed Charlecote into a world-class retailer. Todd loved taking trips to Europe to find beautiful and unique items to bring back to the shop. He became a staple of the art fair circuit around the nation and endeared himself to both customers and fellow dealers with his knowledge and willingness to teach others.
The bowl appears in good and ready to place condition. The decoration throughout is bright and attractive. There is rubbing to the gilt decoration around the foot and small scattered rubbing on the interior of the bowl. The interior of the bowl with a few very minor pits from the firing process. Minute fleabites and shelf wear to the underside of the foot rim consistent with age and use. Additional images are available upon request.
