The canvas is lined. Stable craquelure throughout; yellowed varnish. Under UV light: the painting has been selectively cleaned on the flesh areas and lighter parts of the dress at some point in the 20th century. The background is covered by an opaque, green varnish. Old inpainting can be seen on the figure's face, chest and hair.
