Minor deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas has been trimmed to the oval shape and affixed to a stretched backing canvas, which is somewhat loose; network of craquelures throughout the surface; scattered instances of paint loss to extreme edges due to frame abrasion and trimming; an area of inpainting extending from the woman’s inner right eyebrow to the lower edge of her nose, as well as inpainting to the image perimeter, visible under normal viewing conditions. Under UV light: the aforementioned areas of inpainting fluoresce; additional small strokes of inpainting scattered throughout the background and woman’s figure.
