The relined canvas is in generally fair to good overall condition with some areas of restoration and retouch, including in the sky, along most of the top edge and at upper left edge, and predominantly at upper center and upper center right. There is some localized retouch in the landscape, including an area of crack, fill, and restoration at the base of the hill. There is some crack fill to the seated child. There is some retouch to two legs of each horse. There is some additional scattered retouch, including to the face of the boy at far right, and there are some varnish inconsistencies.
