Significant deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is unlined; network of craquelures throughout the surface; there is a large, complicated tear in the upper left corner, accompanied by paint losses, approximately 4 x 4 inches; there is an old, small patch repair on the lower right corner verso; additional smaller tears with paint losses are located in the upper center and center right; localized pinpoint paint losses in the upper right and left corners, as well as in the lower left corner; two shallow abrasions extends through the attendant in the lower right corner and through the standing woman's legs; an additional thin scuff mark extending from the center left edge; a few minor areas of inpainting are noticeable in scattered areas, primarily one spot in the attendant's skirt, but these are only under strong light; several instances of non-original white paint droplets through the left side. Under UV light: the spot of inpainting in the attendant's skirt fluoresces; two small spots of inpainting in the upper right edge of the plinth in the center, as well as one small spot of inpainting above it; strengthening to the browns of the standing woman's hair; a possible 3 1/2 x 1/2 area of inpainting in the wall directly above the attendant; possible inpainting to the greens in the vines along the wall edge in the center right, although this may be inherent to the pigments used.
