Moderate deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is relined; faint stretcher bar marks around the image perimeter; network of craquelures throughout the sky; three areas of inpainting in the upper center of the sky, with largest being approximately 1 x 1 1/2 inches in area, but mostly visible only in raking light; under a dirty and discolored varnish. Under UV light: the aforementioned areas of inpainting fluoresce; additional pinpoint to small spots of inpainting in scattered areas of the sky and through the center foreground; small spots of inpainting along the length of the right edge.
