Moderate deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is wax lined; passages of the canvas have been pressed due to the lining process; craquelures throughout, which appear stable; an approximately 1 inch canvas tear along the lower center edge, with associated paint loss; scattered areas of lifting paint in the lower center, with what appears to be surrounding inpainting; frame abrasions along all edges; a small area of paint loss in the center left, within the tree edges, as well as a small area of paint losses along the lower left edge; areas of inpainting to address craquelures in the lower left, mostly visible only under strong light; pinpoint brown stains visible in lighter areas of the surface; two liquid droplet stains in the center left. Under UV light: the thick varnish prohibits a clear understanding of the inpainting, although the inpainting in the lower left quadrant fluoresces; areas of the foliage appear to have been strengthened in multiple areas.
