Note:

John Doggett, founder of Doggett's Repository of Arts (active circa 1821-1825), Boston, Massachusetts, was a gilder and framer who sold original pieces and copies of works by well-known artists, including Gilbert Stuart (1755-1828). In March of 1822, Doggett featured portraits of the first five American presidents: George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe.

Foxing present throughout Madison engraving; irregular toning consistent in Lafayette portrait, originating from edges. Monroe in otherwise good condition.
