the first, a portrait of a child, inscribed verso, "Major Carmicheal/ Killed in engagement/..." watercolor on paper, housed in black frame; the second, a reverse-glass painted profile silhouette of a woman, backed with porcelain plaque, housed in a black frame; and the third, a portrait of a young woman, watercolor on paper, housed in a gilt pendant case, verso with aperture containing hairwork.
