Note:

It is interesting that the gentleman holds a flutina, an instrument invented in France in 1831.

All three lined and with canvas edges glued to stretchers. Sides of canvases have metal strips screwed to stretcher frames. Each portrait displays areas of craquleure. Little boy: fluoresces under UV with several irregular horizonal lines of retouch across body and lower canvas, likely former tears. One area of ground to right of face appears to be a loss of canvas, the lining painted to blend with rest of portrait. Scattered areas of retouch to ground, and to face.
Lady: scattered areas of retouch to face, background and dress. An irregular line fluoresces to lower right of figure- probably a former .tear. Gentleman: retouch to face
and scattered small areas to ground and to figure.
