Echoes of the Past: Property from an Important Private Collection

The sheet in generally fair to good overall condition apart from the sheet apparently having been folded vertically in the center, which is visible from the verso and to a lesser degree from the recto though the sheet lies flat. There are two repaired horizontal repaired tears joined by a vertical tear (covered on the verso with tape) at center right in the margin area and which do not extend into the drawn area. There are two large rectangular shaped discolored areas on the verso in between which the sheet has pale discoloration (sheet must have been pressed up against something to cause this). There is pale discoloration in some of the margin areas outside the drawing. There are some localized and generally unobtrusive pale foxing spots in parts of the drawing and margins. There are some scattered creases including, but not necessarily limited to, at lower left and upper left corner. There is a horizontal 3/4 inch horizontal tear at left margin and a 1/4 inch horizontal tear at upper right margin. On the verso is a paper label (unidentified) inscribed '33' in ink. At bottom and extending upwards there are two vertical shaped discolored linear areas (origins unknown). Additional images available upon request.
