The present lot will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by Wally Findlay Galleries, and will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of the artist's work.
Provenance:
The Artist, Paris, France, 1969.
Wally Findlay Galleries, New York, New York, March 1969.
Acquired directly from the above by the family of the present owner, September 1969.
The unlined canvas in overall very good condition. With a drip of surface soiling at center, in the background between the flowers. In the top right background area, there is another tiny dot of soiling. With a few areas of light craquelure in the heavily painted passages, for instance at left center. Examination under UV light reveals several dots fluorescing, but we believe these are due to the aforementioned soiling rather than inpainting. See Specialist's photos for more details.

Condition reports prepared by Freeman's staff are provided as a convenience and may be requested from the Department prior to bidding.
The absence of a posted condition report on the Freeman's website or in our catalogues should not be interpreted as commentary on an item's condition. Prospective buyers are responsible for inspecting a lot or sending their agent or conservator to inspect the lot on their behalf, and for ensuring that they have requested, received and understood any condition report provided by Freeman's.
