Lined canvas. The paint surface is thin in the sky and very flat. Fine craquelure throughout. An L-shaped scratch to varnish above the horse's head. Under UV light: a large area of inpainting at upper center with a few spots of stabilized flaking; some inpainting to the groom's face and to the horse's head.
