Aperture of the top section: height 9 1/4 (10 1/4 from inside shelf to ceiling) x width 13 inches.
The etagere is sturdy and in good condition overall. It has a nice patina from age and use, but it is currently a little bit dusty.

There are small nicks to two of the finials, minor rings to a few of the shelves, and one small area of a shelf has lifting veneer. There are small abrasions to two corners and a couple of small chips to the wood scattered throughout the frame. The wood has shrunk in a few areas commensurate with age. One leg has what appears to be latex paint splatters at the foot. These issues do not detract from the overall appearance - in the right interior, the piece could be placed in its current condition.
