The secretaire is in overall good condition. The brass mount of the left side columnar support is slightly loose and should be tightened. There are some scattered nicks, shrinkage cracks and scratches to the mahogany surfaces as well as minor scattered worm holes (inactive). The parcel gilt surfaces of the sphinx-form supports also have some wear and small chips. The upper exterior drawer's pulls may be replaced. The two lower exterior drawers are in good functional condition. All three drawers' interiors are fitted with quarter rounds. The drawers within the writing compartment have some small stains and wear, particularly the central lower drawer.
The rouge marble top is in overall good condition.
