The chair is sturdy and in good condition overall. It was re-upholstered at some point in the 20th century. The wood frame has shrunk at select joints commensurate with age, and the painted finish has various nicks and abrasions; this does not detract from the overall appearance. The item is free of unpleasant scents or odors.
