Significant deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is unlined; network of craquelures throughout the surface; a series of pinpoint holes extend along the right edge; horizontal and vertical stretcher bar marks extend through the center; instances of whitish liquid droplet stains in the lower right corner; pinpoint to small white paint droplets scattered through the lower center and upper left corner; pinpoint brown stains within the woman's right forearm; under a highly reflective varnish. Under UV light: selective varnish cleaning around the woman's face and arms; areas of possible inpainting within the background, most noticeably to the left of the woman's face and left forearm; pinpoint spots of inpainting scattered through the woman's right forehead and right cheek; a line of inpainting within the drapery, as well as pinpoint spots of inpainting in the lower right corner; uneven varnish application and whitish stains in the lower right corner also fluoresce but do not appear to be inpainting.
