Note:
This powder horn was made for Thomas Splane in 1818. Splane served in the Revolutionary War as a Virginia Recruit in the 2nd Regiment, and later moved to Mississippi in the 1790s. Given the imagery scattered about this horn, it is likely that Splane was member of the Freemasons, though there are no historical documents to ensure his membership.
