Display Cased Pair of Pietta .44 Caliber Plated & Engraved Reproduction Colt 1851 Navy Type Percussion Revolvers

1.) .44 Cal. 7.375" barrel length. SN: 552078. Nickel plated finish with gold finished cylinder, trigger and hammer mounting white synthetic grips, and engraved embellishments to major parts. Single action six-shot percussion revolver with octagonal barrel mounting gold front bead and hammer rear notch sights. The cylinder displays Ormsby's Naval Engagement scene, with rich spiral scroll engraving over the frame, barrel, hammer, and loading lever. Standard PIETTA maker marks and Italian black powder firing proof marks.

2.) .44 Cal. 7.75" barrel length. SN: 552079. Revolver matches the configuration of the item 1, and comes in a glass lidded display case with the above. Included in the case are a nickel plated powder flask, and a percussion cap dispenser. {ANTIQUE}

This lot is located in Cincinnati.

1.) Very Good. Bore is Frosty with oxidized spots near breech. Nickel finish has taken on a cloudy finish to the barrel flanks with scattered light scuffs and scratches. Grips retain a clean polish, and the cylinder is without a visible turn ring.

2.) Very Good. Matches the condition of item 1, including the bore condition.

Display case has some spots of white residue, scratches, and dust.

He is the owner of College Hill Arsenal, a web based antique and collectible arms retail web site, specializing in the American Civil War and related military items. Tim has engaged in the business of buying, selling, researching, and appraising antique and collectible arms and associated military items for some three decades.
