Foreign Copy of a Colt Single Action Army

.44-40. 4.75" barrel length. SN: 35644. Bare metal finish with walnut two-piece grips featuring fixed front blade and topstrap notch rear sights. Single action six-shot loading gate revolver patterned after the Colt Single Action Army. Item features a solid frame, with caliber mark to the left frame preceded by an imitation of Colt's patent mark. Single line Colt address to the top of the barrel does not match the dimensions of a typical Colt example, suggesting it was faked. No visible Spanish proof marks, and rough tool marks suggest it may be a Mexican copy. Struck with the number 2 to the right rear barrel, C on left hammer, with 2 and 0 on the right frame below grips. Item lacks ejector rod and housing, and features a black powder frame with replaced cylinder pin. Butt has a port for mounting a lanyard loop, though none is present. {ANTIQUE}

Fair. Bore is Dark with strong rifling, dark patina, and some pitting. The locating hole for the ejector rod housing has been bored completely through the barrel, likely explaining why it has no ejector. Metal finish shows scattered light nicks, pitting, with a buffed gray color overall. Grips have been sanded down and show handling dents and chips. Action indexes roughly with loose lockup.
