.45-70 (.45-55). 29.5" barrel. SN: 292435 (mfg. ca. 1885). Blued and color casehardened finish, steel mountings, full-length military walnut stock. Single shot breechloading "Trapdoor" action cadet rifle with M1884 Buffington rear sight, Barelycorn front sight with pinned blade, two-piece triggerguard, 3-click tumbler, grooved trigger with checkered tip, stacking swivel on upper band, sling swivels on upper band and triggerguard bow. Standard lock and breechblock markings, with Model/1884 on block. Left wrist with weak script SWP/1885 cartouche with a weak {Circle-P} firing proof behind the triggerguard. Includes a correct pattern slotted head cleaning rod. {ANTIQUE}
