German Weyersberg Hirschfanger and Moroccan Koummya Jambiya

1.) 16.5" blade length. 22.5" overall with scabbard and hilt. Straight single edged fullered spearpoint blade with staghorn handle featuring hoof shaped quillons with oak leaves, three acorns to the handle, and an acorn shaped nut retaining the pommel. Guard features a stag and does below a {Crown/G} seal. Blade is etched with hunting scenes and panoplies of arms, in addition to EDUARD KUHNE, ERFURT. Ricasso is struck with maker marking W.K & C below {King and Knight Heads}. Comes with a matching stag horn handled utility knife with matching etching on the blade. Sheath features a German Silver throat and drag and leather body.

2.) 8.5" blade. 15.5" overall with scabbard and hilt. Curved double edged spearpoint blade with nonferrous metal hilt and scabbard displaying embossed geometric designs. The hilt and scabbard both mount recurring patterns of semi0precious stones, and the hilt features a blue cord through the hanging loops. No visible maker markings, and the blade is unsharpened. Likely a Moroccan Koummya Jambiya produced for the tourist trade.

1.) Good. Blades are primarily Bright with nicks to the utility blade, and a smooth unsharpened edge to the larger. Some flecking and oxidized spots to both. All brass and German Silver tarnished. Sheath shows handling wear, dents, and cracking. Knuckle bow to the hilt has broken off, and is provided separate.

2.) Good. Blade has rust forming on both flanks with some scratches and nicks. Hilt and scabbard show some light dents, blue-green oxidation around some of the stone mountings, and some scratches.

Tim is a life member of the Ohio Valley Military Society, the Tennessee Military Collectors Association, the Alabama Military Collectors Association, is a member of the Company of Military Historians and is a member of numerous other colleting groups and societies. He is the owner of College Hill Arsenal, a web based antique and collectible arms retail web site, specializing in the American Civil War and related military items. Tim has engaged in the business of buying, selling, researching, and appraising antique and collectible arms and associated military items for some three decades. Since 2016 he has also served as a senior Consulting Specialist in the field of Arms, Armor & Militaria for Cowan’s Auctions, a Freeman's Company.
