Good attic condition and untouched. Blade with moderate oxidation and some surface rust, mostly for about 1" at the ricasso. The balance of the blade shows a dulling pewter patina with scattered surface oxidation and freckling, as well as some small patches of light surface rust. Hilt with a rich, deep, dark and uncleaned patina. Peen undisturbed. Wood grip with wear and essentially all of the leather wrap gone, showing only minute traces under the edges of the brass mounts. Iron wire intact and somewhat loose. Wood scabbard with moderate wear and with a dark, uncleaned and untouched patina. Most of the pins are missing from the sheet iron mounts, so they are loose and will move, upper mount completely removable. Mounts with a rich, dark, heavily oxidized patina on both the iron and brass. Upper split ring missing, middle ring intact. Wood with scattered bumps, scuffs and marks, but retaining much of the period reddish varnish, which has oxidized to a rich dark, oxblood color. Saber does not fully seat in scabbard with the bottom edge of the ricasso catching on the scabbard throat.
