Fair. Bore very good, partly bright with strong rifling. Metal with much of an old, thinning tinned finish likely applied after the war for GAR display or something similar. Metal cleaned at some point, leaving the barrel markings soft. Metal with scattered oxidation and discoloration as well. Lock mechanically functional. Wood well worn, with a break through the wrist somewhat crudely repaired with two reinforcing dowels the are not so artfully concealed in the top of the wrist. Wood sanded and with some added varnish. No legible cartouches present, although some traces can be seen. Wood showing numerous bumps, dings and mars. Ramrod a poor quality reproduction.
