Quarter plate daguerreotype by Anton Orlov (American, b. 1977).

A fine image of an ear of corn, housed in a contemporary frame. Of this image, Orlov says I was fortunate enough to receive some invaluable advice on the art of daguerreotype from Irving. Our interactions were few, and sadly came toward the end of his path and right at the start of mine, but his words of encouragement kept me pushing for new directions within the medium.
