[Contemporary Daguerreotype by Orlov]

A fine, solarized 4 x 5" daguerreotype taken February 27, 2021 by American daguerreotypist Anton Orlov (American, b.1977).

"In making this plate", Orlov writes "I made this daguerreotype to commemorate the historical meeting of Daguerre and Samuel Morse in the spring of 1839...in making this multiple exposure, I worked out of way to use this sun in combination with the strict rules of Morse code. I took a handful of plates during the Covid pandemic, of which this is the only one with added solarization."
