FIRST EDITION of Bruce's first book, describing the Hindu Kush, Karakoram, and Western and Eastern Himalaya. Bruce undertook expeditions with Younghusband from Afghanistan, and Conway, Eckenstein, and Zurbriggen from Gilgit into the Karakoram and on to the Baltoro Glaciers. He traversed the passes into Kashmir, Nun Kun, and Nanga Parabat with Mummery and Collie, and explored the Kumaon and Garhwal on to Nanda Devi and Kamet with Longstaff and Mumm. Neate B199.
