3 volumes, 8vo (215 x 127 mm). Portrait frontispiece in volume I, engraved vignettes on title-pages, numerous illustrations and plates. (Minor browning and offsetting.) Later half green calf, marbled boards, red and green morocco lettering pieces gilt, marbled edges (slight wear to joints and ends of spines, minor wear). Provenance: Bookseller's stamp of Hugh Hopkins, Glasgow. The second edition.
