Both works have been painted on plywood. Overall both works have consistent cracks where the white paint ground has split on the vertical grain of the veneer of the plywood. This is visually minor and consistent with the age and patina of the work. There is a small gash 1/4 in square, in the bottom right corner of the work where the figure has buttons.
