having a broken swan neck pediment centered by a brass eagle finial above the glazed door enclosing the painted iron dial with Roman numeral hours, further painted to show a flowering urn, signed with a partially obscured signature, the straight trunk fitted with a door, raised on a molded plinth base.

Height 86 inches.

Clock in overall good, stable condition. Glass to hood intact. Exterior finish to hood and trunk with even finish, having light surface wear (nicks and scratches) consistent with age and handling. Having tight age splits to right side of hood and base of trunk. Trunk door with split, some warping and with key. The trunk with a later applied brass plaque marked Josh Stirling, London, 1791. Back board to case with splits. Base to clock with some reconstruction to interior. Face retaining painted finish but with scratches throughout. Four hands all present. Works appear intact and complete with two weights, pendulum and crank. Works fit well with hood and case, ears do not appear adapted. Weights wind up, clock runs and strikes on the hour. Unsure as to duration or accuracy of movement. Additional images available upon request.
