Sale 498
Estimate$6,000 – $8,000
Property from the Collection of Floyd H. Abramson, Chicago, Illinois
the lithographic transfer is strong and easy to read. There is a stronger yellowish tint to this screen than lot 78 in this sale. There is a white powder in areas which appears to be from the storage process, this wipes clean with a moist cloth. The wheels and hinges are in good working order. One hinge in the middle, at the bottom, has a pin missing but stills works. There is a small area where it appears like paint or plaster was splattered. There is also a thumb like dent to one panel on the Bosco con Balaustra side. There is also wear and chipping to each panel around the edges and corners, consistent with a screen of this age.
