In good, stable condition overall. Primarily composed of parts dating to the 16th/17th centuries, with areas of alteration. The closing mechanism, in addition to some nails and other hardware elements, are not original. The hairy paw feet are later. The hinged top opens and closes smoothly. Scattered heat and water marks to the hinged rectangular top consistent with age. Areas of worming to the wood throughout, consistent with age. Scattered areas of loss and wear to the marquetry on the front and side panels. Refinished, but the non-original finish is older. Missing a key.
